Biography of Mustafa Akhundi
Mostafa Akhundi was born in Tehran. He studied Iranian instruments for a while, then played the piano and finally chose the guitar. After traveling to Germany, he continued to play at the Rhine Music School with Friedrich Putz. In 1996, he managed to form the Ava group. He performed many concerts in Europe with this group. Mustafa Akhundi has written many articles about music and guitar instruments and has collaborated with various publications. He is a classical guitar teacher and has been teaching this instrument at the German National School (Volks Herkh Schoele) and also in Tehran and is working at the University of Arts.
In 1996, he succeeded in forming a musical group called Ava. The members of this group were mostly orchestra musicians or high school graduates, and their music was a combination of Eastern and Western melodies. This group has held many concerts in Europe and also participated in several festivals. In 1998, it released a CD for solo guitar. In these years, Mustafa Akhundi has been teaching classical guitar in music schools, including the Volkshochschule German National School. In 1996, he performed several concerts in Europe under the title of Baroque to Modern with the master flute player Ms. Kan Soon Lee.
In July of 2015, he gave a concert for the first time with the Ecuadorian guitarist Julio Almeida living in Germany in Tehran. From 1988 to 1989, he studied guitar with Farid Rich Putz at the Rhein Music School.
