Mario Taghodsi (born 1337) is an opera baritone singer, voice teacher and musician from Iran.

Mohammad Taghodsi, known as Mario Taghodsi, was born in Tehran in 1337. His father was Taghi Taghodsi, a stuntman, actor, and one of the founders of Iran's humor program. At the age of ten, he entered the Tehran Music Conservatory and started playing the violin. After that, at the age of seventeen, he immigrated to the United States with a scholarship to continue his music education and studied opera at USC University in Southern California.
During his four years of studying in this university, he was also engaged in performing opera and during this period he performed 8 different opera roles. The early years of his studies at the university coincided with the 1357 Iranian revolution and the closure of music education centers. For this reason, he did not return to Iran and after finishing his studies at the University of Southern California, he went to New York and participated in several masterclasses at the Juilliard School.
After these courses, Mario Taghdasi went to Austria and learned the German language, then he participated in the entrance exam of the Vienna Opera and was selected among the twelve selected among 270 people. He was then hired by Lorraine Mazel, who was the conductor of the Vienna Opera at the time, for three years. At this time, Taghdasi met Luciano Pavarotti, the famous opera singer of the world, and as Pavarotti's only Iranian student, he benefited greatly from his teachings. At the same time, he completed his studies at the Vienna Conservatory.
Among his teachers, we can mention artists such as Cheryl Means, Renata Tebaldi, Montserrat Cabaye and Birgit Nelson. After finishing his music education, he went to Germany and pursued opera singing.
From 2008 onwards, Mario Taghdasi holds masterclasses in different cities every year during his trips to Iran. He performed the program for the first time in Iran, at the invitation of Mohammad Serir, at the Music House celebration, titled "Mohammed Nouri Night", which was held in Mehr 1390 at Vahdat Hall in Tehran. After that, he started working periodically with different orchestras in Iran. In 2014, Taghdisi was invited by the Spanish government to establish an art foundation and singing academy in Mallorca.
In February 2019, in the ceremony of the 6th anniversary of Iranian music, Mario Taghodsi was honored. In his absence, Farhad Herati received the "Salnova" plaque and statue.

Mario Taghdasi has a repertoire including more than 20 opera titles and several musical works, from the works of world-renowned composers in his artistic career. In Germany, he has released several classical and pop music albums, such as: Summer Fantasy album in 2002 and Aftab Der Qalb Shami album in 2004.
